Dental Implantation — is one of the most essential branches of modern dentistry. Thanks to various implantation techniques, we can eliminate the need for removable dentures, and to restore one or more teeth, there’s no need to grind down adjacent teeth.

Missing a Single Tooth:

Dental implantation is the ideal solution when missing a single tooth. The advantages of this design are stability and durability. There are four stages of implant placement:
— Examination. The implantation area is examined using x-rays.
— A bed is formed in the bone, and the implant is placed.
— A crown is made based on impressions.
— The crown is fixed onto the implant.

Missing Several Teeth:

In this case, dental implantation is possible in two ways:
— Placing implants and creating a bridge on the implants or restoring each tooth individually.

Toothless Jaw:

Prosthetics can be performed in three ways:
— Creating a removable denture.
— Making a conditionally removable denture on implants.
— Producing a fixed denture on implants.
In modern conditions, implantation allows the restoration of a toothless jaw with conditionally removable or fixed constructions. Let’s consider the fabrication of a fixed denture on a completely toothless jaw. The first stage is the examination. The second is the placement of 4-6 implants. The third is the fabrication of a bridge based on impressions. The final stage is fixing the denture onto the implants.
Now let’s consider the fabrication of a conditionally removable denture on implants, taking the lower jaw as an example. Two to four implants are placed in the lower jaw. 10 mm implants are sufficient for normal load.
Let’s consider a full removable denture. A conventional removable denture has significant disadvantages. A denture supported by dental implants is practically imperceptible in the mouth and has several advantages.

Immediate Dental Implantation:

This is the placement of an implant and prosthetics in one day. The process is as follows: the implant is placed, an abutment is fixed to it, and a temporary crown is installed. After a period of 3-6 months, the temporary crown is replaced with a permanent one.

An implant consists of two parts: the implant itself, which is inserted into the jawbone, and the abutment.

Abutment is a structure fixed to the implant, to which, in turn, a crown, supporting the denture structure or the denture itself, is attached.
Implants are placed in a dental office under local anesthesia. The implant placement surgery is painless. Dental implants are inserted into the bone tissue in place of the lost tooth and remain there for the next 3-4 months or six months. This time is necessary for the implant to integrate with the bone tissue.

Modern technologies have made it possible to perform implantation using a surgical template.
Advantages of using a 3D template:
— The ability to see the simulated result of implantation and prosthetics before the surgery in a computer program;
— Accuracy of placement;
— Significantly reduces surgery time, as the entire operation is planned in advance;
— Using templates helps doctors avoid making urgent decisions directly during surgery;
— Minimal trauma, up to complete absence of gum incisions;
— Absence of complications such as perforation of the maxillary sinuses and cortical jawbone, injury to the mandibular nerve;
— The possibility of placing a large number of implants in one surgery;
— Fabrication and placement of temporary crowns immediately after implant placement;
— Faster and easier recovery after surgery.
